Histology Technician Job in Flint, MI

You are an Allied Health Professional with histology expertise, and you're ready for a 91-day travel assignment at McLaren Health Care Corporate in Flint, MI. This role offers nights (5x8 schedule) with no on-call responsibilities and no weekend requirements unless fewer than four histotechnicians are available across the week.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare thin slices of human, animal, or plant tissue on slides for analysis
• Examine, fix, and process tissue for proper sample preservation
• Embed tissue samples in paraffin wax
• Cut tissue samples using a microtome or cryostat
• Mount tissue samples on slides
• Stain or dye samples to emphasize abnormalities
• Recognize factors affecting procedures and quality results, taking corrective action as needed
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments
• Manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures

Your Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Histotech
• HT or HTL certification through ASCP (required)
