Histology Technician Job in Flint, MI

You will work as a Histology Technician at McLaren Health Care Corporate in Flint, MI. This is a temporary position running for 91 days, beginning October 26, 2026. You will work 5 days per week on the day shift (8-hour shifts).

About the Role

You will prepare tissue samples for microscopic analysis and diagnosis. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Prepare thin slices of human, animal, or plant tissue on slides for analysis
• Examine, fix, and process tissue for proper sample preservation
• Embed tissue samples in paraffin wax
• Cut tissue samples using a microtome or cryostat
• Mount tissue samples on slides
• Stain or dye samples to emphasize abnormalities
• Recognize factors that affect procedures and quality results, taking appropriate corrective action when necessary
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments
• Manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures as needed

Schedule and Benefits

You will work day shift hours with no on-call responsibilities. Weekends are not required unless fewer than 4 histotechnicians are available throughout the week. This arrangement provides predictable scheduling and work-life balance.

Qualifications

You must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Histotech. HT or HTL certification through ASCP is required for this position.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,411.20.
