PACU RN Job in Espanola, NM

Presbyterian Health Services Inc is seeking an RN for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Espanola, NM. This is a 16-hour night shift position with an 89-day contract starting August 3, 2026.

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in the PACU, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs. You will be responsible for a group of assigned patients during each shift, ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.

Key Responsibilities

• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as required
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols, documenting according to policy
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care
• Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards

Qualifications

You must hold an active RN license. Experience in post-anesthesia care is preferred. You should be comfortable with critical thinking, patient assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.
