PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,102.40. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with every other weekend and holiday support required.

Unit Overview

The PCU operates with 10 ICU/PCU overflow beds. Patient ratios are 2:1 for ICU patients and 4–5:1 for PCU patients. Each shift is staffed with one Charge RN and five Staff RNs. The Charge RN works outside the staffing ratio. There are no unit secretaries or PCTs available, and no on-call requirements apply to this role.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using advanced critical care skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Manage central lines and assist providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
• Float between ICU and PCU beds as needed per floating policy
• Conduct bedside shift reports and assist the relief Charge RN with nurse leader rounding
• Operate clinical equipment including lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) devices, ventilators, and IV pumps
• Document care in the Cerner system

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Medical ICU experience in a large facility
• Demonstrated comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Critical thinking, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills

Navy blue or white scrubs are required.
