RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with a day, night, and weekend/holiday rotation schedule
• Complete 3x12-hour shifts plus 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
• Conduct triage assessments and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI triage standards
• Perform primary and secondary patient assessments for patients of all age groups
• Deliver high quality, compassionate emergency care utilizing invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions
• Manage both life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families
• Collaborate with care team to provide direct patient care, apply appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient progress
• Identify and document deviations from norm and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Educate patients and families on post-emergency care and discharge instructions
• Maintain patient communication boards and provide frequent updates to patients and families throughout the ED visit
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital experience as an RN required
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department hospital experience as an RN required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification/NIHSS (must be AHA or RQI)
• New York State RN licensure required
