PACU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Join MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide direct patient care in an 11-bed unit with a daily census of 20–40 patients, managing a 1:2 patient ratio.

Schedule & Commitment

• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• One required late shift per week—you remain on the unit as the second nurse until the last OR case is completed and recovered, then are released with call-back pay starting at 6:00 PM until departure
• On-call: 1 call night per week and 1 call weekend every 6 weeks
• Weekend requirement for on-call only
• 91-day contract beginning August 31, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,188

Patient Population & Diagnoses

You will care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients across multiple surgical specialties, including general surgery, endoscopy, peripheral vascular, PPM/ICD, cardiac ablations, orthopedics, and ENT.

Requirements

• RN license: SC or Multi-State/Compact required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Critical care training preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted

Unit Details & Support

• Scrubs provided by facility
• Special equipment includes PCA pump
• Block schedule available pending manager approval based on unit needs
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called-off hours can be broken down to equal 1 shift
