Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Vail, CO

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team on a day shift schedule. You will work 3×12 shifts in a dynamic surgical environment where you play a critical role in patient safety and surgical success.

Your Responsibilities:

• Scrub in and assist during surgical procedures, maintaining the integrity of the sterile surgical field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team
• Apply expertise in sterile and aseptic technique, drawing on knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgical tools and technologies
• Maintain working knowledge of AORN standards and implement them throughout your shifts
• Check and maintain all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal integrity, sterile indicators, and expiration dates
• Ensure the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly to support optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor the sterile field for potential contamination or interference and initiate corrective action or notify your supervisor as needed
• Work toward or maintain competency with Tier 1 surgical cases
• Participate in Time Out Process activities, including briefings and debriefings
• Assist the team with patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Stay current with new technologies, procedures, instrumentation, and equipment
• Treat patients across all age groups with professionalism and compassion

Requirements:

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist certification
• Current Colorado state license as a Surgical Technologist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association
