NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position with every other weekend requirement
• Block scheduling in place for shift assignments
• First to float within the department as needed
• Holiday requirements include 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• Standby/on-call requirement applicable
• Work in a Level 2 NICU / Special Care Nursery combined with an LDRP and postpartum unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for NICU babies or 3 mother-baby couplets for postpartum assignments
• Must be skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
• Experience with Bubble CPAP, Hi-flow, umbilical line placement assist and maintenance required
• Must be proficient in IV start and maintenance and transfer to higher level of care
• Titrate drips including D5W and TPN
• Common diagnoses include phototherapy, gainer/growers, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, neonatal opioid withdrawal (NOW), and suspected sepsis
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, Hi-flow, and ventilator prior to transfer
• No telemetry or central monitoring on unit
• 3 nights of orientation with staff provided
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
