RN - ER Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in an ER/ED float pool setting
• Required to float throughout Zone 4, which covers a 60-mile radius from Garden City, KS center
• Float locations include Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine - Dodge City, and St. Catherine - Garden City
• No home base facility - float assignments will be communicated on or before Monday start date
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Average patient volume ranges from 6 to 49 patients per day depending on location
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
• Will be trained to perform point-of-care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Unit/department-specific orientation: 2-3 days
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• BSN not required
• Valid Kansas nursing license required
