Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed to fill staffing needs
• Holiday rotation participation required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Charge nurse present on each shift and does not take patients
• CNAs available on unit at a 1:8 ratio
• Travelers are first to float to other medical surgical units and may be asked to float to sister facilities in Meridian or Nampa
• 2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor provided
• Common patient diagnoses include bone marrow transplant (BMT), oncology, GYN oncology surgeries, hospice, and general med/surg cases
• Must be able to respond appropriately to life-threatening cardiac rhythms as tele techs are on the unit
• RT equipment includes CPAP and High Flow
• Common drips include pain medication drips and PCAs
• Chemo certification required to administer chemotherapy
• Prefer candidates with chemotherapy, oncology, and/or BMT experience; minimum 1 year of oncology experience accepted
• General med/surg nurses without oncology or chemo experience must have a minimum of 2 years of experience
• BSN required
• Required certifications: BLS
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Any color; no hoods permitted
• Scheduling is managed at the leadership level; night shift travelers are asked to be flexible and fill in the schedule
