PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 3x12 hour shifts per week, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Call requirement of 12-24 hours per 6-week schedule block with 1 holiday shift required
• Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 2 patients days, nights, and weekends
• No floating required within unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Must be comfortable working in a large, fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• PACU is open and staffed 24/7 receiving all specialties except open heart surgery
• Average daily census of 65-85 patients with 26 beds
• ICU/PCU background preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Must be proficient in the following surgical service specialties:
   - Neuro
   - Ortho
   - Peripheral Vascular
   - Thoracic
   - Urology
   - Gynecology
   - Plastics
   - Intubated patients
   - Pediatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
