CVOR RN Job in Colorado Springs, CO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Penrose Hospital. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 rotating shifts, typically 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM (times negotiable)
• Call policy: one weekday per week and one weekend day per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) in rotation with staff
• Call response time: 30 minutes; on-site call room available
• Weekly pay: $2,540.16

Role Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in CVOR cases, including open heart, TAVR, open and endovascular procedures, and thoracic surgery
• Scrubbing required for RNs to hold the heart and assist with chest closure
• Float to General OR when CVOR cases are not scheduled
• May float within Zone 1 facilities in cases of extreme need

Facility Details

• 16 OR suites total, including 3 dedicated CVOR suites
• Average 30 cases per day with 1–2 cardiac cases daily
• 8 OR technicians available in CVOR
• Charting system: Epic
• Hospital provides light blue scrubs

Requirements and Orientation

• Current BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Open heart experience and/or endovascular experience required
• One week of unit and department-specific orientation provided
• BSN not required

Cancellation Policy

• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
