Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 in a 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit with an average daily census of 7
• Care for patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
• Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
• Monitor and care for post-AAA repair patients requiring flat positioning for specified hours post-procedure
• Intensivist present in the unit Monday through Friday with multidisciplinary rounds at 10:00 AM daily
• Nurses typically carry 2 patients with a free charge nurse available
• Effective communication with nurses, physicians, and care team is essential
• Work every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required: expected to work 1 holiday if 1 falls during assignment, both if 2 fall during assignment, and 2 of 3 if three fall during assignment
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Special equipment experience required: LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, CRRT machine, venous/femoral sheaths
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
