PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2+ years of progressive care unit experience required
• Will consider candidates requesting 36 hours per week weekly contract
• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Perform patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs for complex situations
• Develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families
• Implement care for patients with complex problems including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and those at high risk for discharge planning
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
• Participate in discussions with interdisciplinary team members in evaluation of patient care
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
• Utilize healthcare organization nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all patients and staff
