Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM
• 3 days per week schedule
• 13-week assignment
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Optional certifications: PALS, STABLE
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory diseases and conditions
• Deliver medicated and non-medicated respiratory therapy as ordered by providers
• Provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure
• Respond to emergency situations including code blue and rapid response events
• Provide patient support in high-risk delivery situations including care of compromised newborns
• Manage airways including care and maintenance of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
• Monitor and adjust parameters for patients on invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support
• Assist with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy
• Perform medicated therapies including small volume nebulizer and metered dose inhaler treatments
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as chest physiotherapy and positive expiratory pressure treatments
• Administer and adjust oxygen therapy based on patient needs and provider orders
• Complete pulmonary function testing and cardiac testing including 12-lead EKGs and Holter monitoring
• Perform arterial and capillary blood gas sampling and interpret laboratory results
• Complete and document oximetry studies
• Document patient assessments and therapy in the medical record
• Clean, prepare, and ensure proper functioning of mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas delivery devices
• Participate in quality improvement projects and departmental meetings
