Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with more than 2 years of experience
• Required certifications: BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Charge pay offered; previous charge experience preferred
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating may be required to take Med Surg patients in ICU/PCU or ED for holds; not likely but possible
• Unit goal is a 5:1 patient ratio with charge out of staffing; flexing to 6:1 may occur
• Average of 8–12 admits to the unit over a 24-hour period
• Unit serves adults and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes a wide variety of diagnoses including dialysis patients, post heart cath patients, total joint replacements, urology, and general surgery
• Charting system: Cerner
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Patient ratio experience up to 6:1 required
• 24-hour orientation
• Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Chest tubes, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Telemetry/remote monitoring, PCA, PICC line management, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and more
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
