ED Registered Nurse Job in Phoenix, AZ

St Josephs Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Emergency Room. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period.

Role Overview

• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Work within a 36-bed acute unit, 54-bed subacute unit, and 6 trauma bays
• Manage approximately 250–300 patients daily with common diagnoses including trauma, burns, chest pain, and spinal cord injuries
• Chart using Cerner EMR
• Read telemetry strips on Phillips monitors

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• At least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and ATCN certifications preferred (ENPC is not accepted as a replacement for PALS)

Orientation & Skills

• Pass a Day 1 orientation exam (study guide provided)
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail)
• Receive training in lifts, restraints, and wound care
• 2–3 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided

Additional Requirements

• Pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must own your own vehicle as travel between up to 4 facilities may be required, with facilities approximately 30 minutes apart and mid-shift floating possible
• Natural hair color required and no facial piercings permitted
• Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
• Scrub color: Navy
• Holidays based on unit coverage needs

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,229.12. Assignment begins July 20, 2026.
