About this role

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 91-day travel assignment at Mary Immaculate Health/Care Services in Lawrence, MA. You'll work days and earn $2,774 weekly.

In this role, you will partner with residents and care providers to deliver comprehensive Speech Language Pathology services focused on maximizing function and independence in daily activities. You will perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician or accepted healthcare provider orders, observing all precautions, indications, and contraindications.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Provide evaluation and treatment for communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow studies
  • Establish therapeutic plans of care with functional long- and short-term goals, specifying frequency and duration of treatment
  • Seek input from residents and primary caregivers regarding the therapeutic plan
  • Consult with referring physicians and healthcare team members regarding therapeutic and discharge needs
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment effects, progressing and modifying treatment programs as necessary
  • Document all evaluative and therapeutic interactions in clear, accessible language per department procedures
  • Recommend and obtain appropriate communication and swallowing assistive devices, ensuring proper instruction in their use
  • Provide education to residents and caregivers and document responses to teaching
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations
  • Provide in-services on clinical knowledge and skills to nursing and other departments
  • Assist with development of new Speech Therapy programs and services
  • Ensure department cleanliness and follow all infection control procedures

Required qualifications: Master's degree, Speech and Language Pathologist license, and Certificate of Clinical Competence. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred. Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is preferred. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; lifts above 50 pounds require a two-person lift. You must possess the physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
