ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Rotating shift schedule with weekend coverage required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 4-5 patients required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Active PA or Compact license required
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Emergency department handles approximately 80 visits per day across 30 rooms and 28 beds
• Required skills include: abdominal pain management, asthma care, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, burn care, ventilated patient care, chest tube insertion and management, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, CVA care, drug overdose management, emergency medications, epiglottitis care, general emergency department combined adult and pediatric care, head injury management, hyperglycemia management, neglect or abuse identification and reporting, infection management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, splint application and management, multisystem organ dysfunction management, violent behavior management, mental and behavioral health conditions, 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, psychiatric hold, respiratory infection, seizure management, IV placement and maintenance, suicidal patient care, and triage
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references preferred
