ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available with night and day shift options
• On-call required every other weekend
• Weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-hour orientation period
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS
• AHA certifications required
• CPI certification required or must be obtained before start date
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
• Must reside more than 65 miles from facility (address on driver's license to site address)
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Emergency department sees approximately 160 visits per day across 22 rooms and 31 beds
• Skills required include triage, IV placement, blood product administration, phlebotomy, EKG/ECG interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation, intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, arterial line management, central line care, chest tube management, and care of ventilated patients
• Must be able to manage psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Upon accepting assignment, may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain at the facility or serve as part of a relief team during emergency events
