Pediatrics RN Job in Denver, CO

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke's is seeking an RN for a seasonal travel position in Pediatric Step Down (Unit 643, 4th floor). This is a night shift role working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three days per week, with every other weekend required. The assignment runs 91 days, starting November 16, 2026.

Unit Overview

You will work in a 36-bed all-private pediatric step-down unit equipped with parent sleeping accommodations. Patient populations include children recovering from spinal fusions, chest tube placements, and high-flow oxygen support. Patient ratios are 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic care patients. The unit does not manage CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy, or ventilator patients—those cases transfer to PICU.

Support & Environment

Night shift staffing includes one charge nurse (patient-free), one to two PCTs, and occasional Clinical Nurse Coordinator support. The unit uses Philips monitors and Meditech EMR (prior Meditech experience preferred). Free on-site parking is available with direct bridge access to the department.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage typical pediatric procedures including nasogastric tubes, Foleys, TP tubes, peripheral IV lines, phlebotomy, and occasional lumbar punctures. You must be comfortable with high-flow oxygen, spinal fusion post-op care, and chest tube management.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric RN experience
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Willingness to work night shifts (first travel contract candidates will not be placed on day shift)
• Team-oriented approach and comfort in fast-paced settings

Candidates with multiple years of travel experience are given priority consideration. Weekly pay is $1,878.
