Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Float throughout the zone's ERs within a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center
• Housing must be obtained to make floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
• Must be available in state during the week of orientation even if first day modules are remote
• Unit orientation is 2-3 days
• Cancellation policy: facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Treat an average of 150 patients per day with common diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• ER holds are intermixed within the ER with no separate holding area
• No separate psych/seclusion rooms
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Technicians support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• No monitor technician - RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently
• Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing

• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
