Laboratory - Medical Technologist

Job Details:

• Core Lab position requiring minimum 2 years of experience
• MLT not accepted - Medical Technologist required
• Weekend coverage every third weekend
• No call required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Travel experience required - first time travelers not accepted
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Holiday work expected based on assignment period: if one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
• Required certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, or ASCP MT
• Charting system experience required (any system accepted)
• Required skills include: hospital clinical laboratory, arterial blood gas, cardiac enzymes, hormone/thyroid testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, CBC manual, manual differential, fibrin split products/FDP, platelet count, body fluids, pregnancy testing, rapid test kits, pipetting, specimen collection, specimen receipt, specimen transport, reporting test results, microscopic urinalysis, quality assurance and controls, crystal identification, manual macroscopic urinalysis, blood specimen storage, proper disposal, and proper labeling
