Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days and nights
• Must be flexible with weekend requirements based on unit needs; travelers must be able to work 50% of weekends during their contract
• Patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Local Indiana residents are not accepted for this position
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred charting system experience: Cerner
• Required skills include: blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care/management, pre/post cardiac surgery, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Preferred skills include telemetry and IV starts
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiovascular surgical, peripheral vascular surgical, arrhythmias, endocarditis, and CHF exacerbation
• Travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU at both University and Methodist Hospitals; refusal to float may result in termination of contract
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required based on operational needs, with training and resources provided
• Travelers must agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment
• If a contracted shift is called in, travelers are expected to make up the shift during the pay period or it will be added to the end of the contract
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
