RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 4x12 shift schedule on a Med Surg Tele overflow unit
• Patient ratios of 5:1 for both days and nights
• Weekend coverage required
• Charge nurse coverage may be required based on operational needs with provided training and resources
• Floating is required - candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Holiday RTO restrictions: Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cannot be requested off
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Locals (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Cerner
• Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit capacity: 24 beds
• Orientation hours: 40
• Required skills include but are not limited to: telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, heparin and insulin protocols, IV insulin protocols, central line blood draw, PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula, PCA management, and use of rapid response/code teams
