Pediatrics CVICU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 24-bed Pediatric ICU unit on the 4CT floor
• Day shift and night shift available with 1 charge nurse, 5-6 RNs (dependent on census), and 1 unit coordinator per shift
• Patient ratios are 2:1, 1:1 for higher acuity patients, and 3:1 for lower step-down acuity patients
• Care for ICU level patients across multiple body systems including respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, plastics, burns, DKA, cardiac history, ortho, ENT, and more
• Operate and manage equipment including ventilators, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and GT
• Use Meditech EMR system
• Perform and assist with procedures including central line placement, chest tube placement, sedation, LP, and intubation
• Intubated/vents experience required
• ICU level of care experience required
• ECMO experience (patient care, not pump management) preferred
• CRRT experience preferred
• Required certification: PALS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, no t-shirts allowed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Float to all children's units and NICU including PIMC, PSRG, Pedi Hemonc, ER for inpatient holds, and PCICU
• Must demonstrate flexibility for change, good communication with medical team, and a friendly and positive attitude
