Opportunity:

RN - Tele Neuro

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• At least every other weekend required with additional weekend shifts possible based on unit needs and census
• 2-3 holidays required from Thanksgiving through New Year's
• 25-bed Med Surg Neuro unit on the 4th Floor North
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Nurse aide/patient care tech support available at 1:10-20 ratio
• Telemetry techs will interpret strips; RNs should maintain tele awareness
• Common diagnoses include strokes, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery procedures, joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Required to titrate Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips
• PCA pumps utilized on unit
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
• Floating may be required to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients
• Charting system: EPIC
• 2 days of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Scheduling will be assigned with a limited amount of block scheduling approved
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Travel experience preferred but strong candidates without travel experience will be considered
• No license or background hits accepted
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
