Telemetry RN Job in Omaha, NE

You will work as an RN on a 25-bed Med Surg Neuro telemetry unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 17, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
• At least every other weekend required, with additional weekend shifts based on unit needs and census
• 2–3 holidays required between Thanksgiving and New Year's
• Limited block scheduling available; most scheduling will be assigned

Unit Details

• Located on 4th Floor North
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Nurse aide and patient care tech support at 1:10–20 ratio
• Telemetry techs interpret strips; you maintain tele awareness
• Charge nurse present on each shift with an assignment

Clinical Responsibilities

• Common diagnoses include strokes, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery procedures, joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titrate Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips
• Manage PCA pumps
• Floating to other medical surgical areas may be required

Orientation and Systems

• 2 days of unit and department-specific orientation provided
• Electronic charting via EPIC

Requirements and Policies

• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid driver's license required at submission
• No license or background hits accepted
• BSN not required
• Travel experience preferred, but strong candidates without travel experience will be considered
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,384.64
