ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work in a combined ICU and IMCU unit with a daily census of 29 patients across 30 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Work every other weekend with 3 weekend shifts per contract
• Holiday coverage required - if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Maximum of 7 pre-approved days off per contract
• Floating within facility and to sister campus if needed
• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
• Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, vent/trachs, DKA, dialysis, stroke post TPA, cardiogenic shock, and surgical cases
• Ventilator experience required
• Skills required include care of ventilated patients, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Unit systems include Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CCRN preferred
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
