CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital San Marcos is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time travel position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role offers flexibility and competitive compensation for a qualified nurse ready to deliver skilled perioperative nursing care.
Position Details

- Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (4x10 schedule can be accommodated)

Role Responsibilities
You will provide routine and complex nursing care to post-anesthesia patients in a busy PACU setting. Your patient population includes general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, cath lab, endoscopy, and pediatric cases—no neuro or cardiac patients. You will practice independently using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for each assigned patient.
Day-to-day duties include administering medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness, and maintaining thorough documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. You will address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, assess learning needs, and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers. As needed, you will make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
Qualifications Required
- Current RN license in Texas or valid compact license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Critical Care, PreOp, and EPIC experience required
- BLS certification (AHA only)
- ACLS certification (AHA only)
- PALS certification (AHA only)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience preferred
