Respiratory Therapist Job in Baltimore, MD

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 4x12 night shifts with every other weekend required and holiday coverage expected. No on-call duties.

In this role, you will float between Adult and NICU units, providing respiratory care across multiple age groups including neonates, infants, adults, and geriatrics. Your responsibilities include:

• Airway management: endotracheal tube placement and suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal and tracheostomy suctioning
• Aerosolized medication administration (Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Xopenex, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Perforomist, Isuprel, Lidocaine)
• Aerosol delivery via mask, trach collar, medihaler, metered dose inhaler, and nebulizer
• Management of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, and CPAP
• Mechanical ventilation troubleshooting and patient weaning
• Pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
• Assistance with high-risk deliveries and umbilical blood gas collection
• Operation of Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U ventilators
• Cerner electronic health record charting

Requirements: Minimum 2 years RRT experience in Adult Critical Care, valid MD State License, BLS, CRT, and RRT certifications. You must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.

Preferred qualifications: NICU experience, ACLS, NRP, PALS certifications, bronchoscopy skills, inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide (INo), Ketamine, Mucomyst, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline administration. Community hospital, ED, and Trauma Level I or II experience valued.
