PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work on a combination Neuro Stepdown and Telemetry unit
• Patient ratios between 1:3-5 depending on patient acuity (Stepdown 3:1, Telemetry 4:1)
• Every other weekend requirement
• On-call as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or Telemetry unit required
• 3 years of experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Charting experience required using Epic
• Required certifications: CA RN License, BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, craniotomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, intracranial bleed management, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, neuro stepdown, non-invasive airway management, PCA, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, pre/post neurosurgery care, seizure disorder management, spinal cord injury care, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Primary patient diagnoses include stroke and other neuro-related conditions
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
