Ultrasound Technologist Job in Hilo, HI

You will work as an Ultrasound Technologist at Hilo Medical Center, a 40-hour rotating shift role with on-call responsibilities as needed. This is a 91-day travel contract beginning December 14, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,440.

Experience and Credentials Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting as a full-time sonographer
• One or more prior travel contract experiences
• ARDMS certification in Abdominal (AB), Obstetrics (OB), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Active BLS certification (AHA Certified)

Clinical Competencies

You must demonstrate competency to proficiency across multiple ultrasound domains:

• Abdominal ultrasound: aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, and renal studies (normal and pathology)
• Gynecological ultrasound: breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, and pelvis (including pathology, transvaginal, and pediatric)
• Obstetrical ultrasound: first, second, and third trimester studies, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, and abnormalities
• Procedural ultrasound: aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative guidance
• Neonatal ultrasound: congenital anomalies and neonatal head imaging
• Superficial structures: abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum/testes, and thyroid
• Vascular ultrasound: carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, and upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex studies

Role Expectations

• Floating to other units and departments as assigned
• Personal scrubs and healthcare professional attire required
• No time off requests will be granted during the first 13 weeks of contract
• Equipment: Canon i700 ultrasound system, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS
