Ultrasound Technologist Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist for a 91-day travel contract beginning December 7, 2026. You will work a rotating 40-hour schedule with on-call responsibilities as appropriate, and may float to other units and departments as needed.

Compensation and Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,440
• Rotating shifts with on-call duties
• No time off requests granted during the first 13 weeks of contract

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting
• Minimum 3 years as a full-time sonographer
• One or more prior travel contract experiences required
• Current ARDMS certification (AB, OB, RVT)
• Active BLS certification (AHA Certified)

Clinical Competencies

You must demonstrate competence to proficiency in:

• Abdominal ultrasound: aorta, IVC, liver/biliary, pancreas, spleen, and renal studies (normal and pathology)
• GYN ultrasound: breast, ovaries, adnexa, uterus, and pelvis (pathology, normal, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult, and pediatric)
• OB ultrasound: first, second, and third trimester studies, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IUGR, and uterus/adnexa
• Procedures: aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative
• Neonatal ultrasound: congenital anomalies and neonatal head
• Superficial structures: abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum/testes, and thyroid
• Vascular ultrasound: carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, and upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex

Equipment and Systems

You will work with Canon i700 ultrasound systems, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.
