Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend requirement of minimum 5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period with additional shifts possible based on need (Nights: Friday and Saturday, Days: Saturday or Sunday)
• Holiday shifts required based on need
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float to Labor & Delivery or Emergency Department as needed
• Two 12-hour orientation shifts on the unit with a preceptor
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4, average 1:5, up to 1:6 on rare occasions
• Work with patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics including typical Med-Surg patients with pneumonia, CHF, COPD, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, elevated bilirubin in newborns, asthma exacerbation, and SWING bed/rehab patients
• Administer and manage drips including insulin and antibiotics; titration required only on rare occasions
• Operate respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and occasional high flow (no vents); RT will set up and monitor
• Ability to read telemetry strips preferred; remote tele tech available; Spacelab monitors in use
• Charting system: EPIC
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP
• Any scrub color and patterns allowed; scrubs provided but not required
