Histology Technician

Opportunity:

Laboratory - Histology Tech

Job Details:

• Work day shifts Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with holiday rotation
• Occasional weekend requirement with on-call coverage on weekends once every 2 months
• No floating required - position works on a single campus location
• Guaranteed hours: facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Perform routine and complex histologic procedures including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry
• Perform quality control on completed slides
• Identify problems that may affect diagnosis and results
• Record observations from tests and document maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab
• Comply with established laboratory policies and procedures
• 5 years of full-time experience required
• Epic Beaker experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, HT(ASCP) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC)
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or other related scientific discipline, QIHC, and 5 years of experience with IHC and Special Stains
