CVICU RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

WVU Camden Clark Medical Center is hiring a CVICU Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026. You'll work 12-hour day shifts, three days per week, at $2,505 weekly pay.

Role Overview

You'll care for an 18-bed mixed acuity unit that includes both step-down and ICU status patients. Nursing ratios are 1:1 for fresh hearts and device patients, 1:2 for ICU status patients, and 1:3 for step-down patients. Every other weekend is scheduled, with holiday coverage as needed. No call or standby requirements apply to this position.

Required Experience

• Minimum 6+ hours post-operative open heart patient experience
• CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) experience
• Temporary and permanent pacemaker management
• Acute MI pre- and post-catheterization procedures
• Mediastinal and chest tube management
• Ventilator and hypothermia protocol experience
• Arterial line placement and titratable drip management

Preferred Experience

• IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump) support
• Impella device management
• Hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheterization

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Support and Logistics

You'll receive one week of orientation that includes modules, Epic training, and unit-specific RN orientation. The unit is supported by 1–2 PCTs per shift, in-house hospitalist/intensivist coverage, and 24/7 respiratory therapy. Epic is the charting system. As a traveler, you will float first to ACU, ICU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry units as needed.
