CVICU RN Job in Morgantown, WV

Mon Health Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, offering 3x12 night shifts that cover weekdays and weekends. You will earn $1,944 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in the CVICU with a standard patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity. You may occasionally float to the Medical ICU or Step Down Unit. This role requires hands-on experience with complex cardiac patients, including those admitted directly from the operating room following open-heart surgery.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Direct experience with fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) monitoring experience
• Proficiency in pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Experience with Impella monitoring and CRRT
• WV or Compact license required

Key Clinical Skills

You must demonstrate competency in arterial line management, ventilator care, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation administration, CVA and acute stroke management, CVVHD and CRRT, Impella support, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) management, post-cardiac surgery admissions from the OR, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventricular assist device management (LVAD/RVAD).

Additional proficiencies include BiPAP and CPAP management, blood product administration, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PICC line management, ETT and NT suctioning, TAVR care, and valve repair and replacement support.

Facility Support

You will have access to interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Additional Information

Cerner experience is preferred for the charting system. Scrubs are not provided. Blocked schedules will be considered upon request.
