NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• Night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday requirement includes one summer holiday, one winter holiday eve, and one winter holiday night, assigned based on unit needs
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
• Level III NICU with 8 beds; in-house neonatologist available 24/7
• NICU team (neonatologist and NICU RN) attend high-risk deliveries
• No floating required
• Scrubs provided
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Pennsylvania Single State or Compact license required at time of submission
• Required clinical skills include:
   - Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP), Bubble CPAP, HFNC, Vapotherm, ETT/NT suctioning, chest tube management, meconium aspiration, and RDS
   - Dysrhythmia interpretation/management, arterial line management, central line care, UAC, UVC, IV starts, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, and phlebotomy
   - Bottle, breast, and gavage feedings; OG/NG/NJ tube placement and management; breastfeeding support and breast milk handling; APGAR scoring; developmental care; thermoregulation; and patient/family education
   - Sepsis and sepsis workup, isolation precautions/PPE, NAS, assist with lumbar puncture, blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia, and phototherapy
   - Surfactants, steroids, neonatal dosage calculations, antibiotics/antivirals, and anti-seizure medications
• Caring for neonates with gestational ages from less than 24 to greater than 34 weeks
