Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (with stretch ratios of 6-7:1)
• Night patient ratios are expected to be 6-7:1 (stretch ratios of 8-10:1 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call required
• Floating required within Med Surg units to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• New travelers accepted
• Maximum 1 week of requested time off per contract
• NY nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be proficient in the following skills and procedures:
   - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
   - IV insulin protocols
   - Feeding tube care and management
   - Blood product administration
   - Peripheral line care and management
   - Heparin protocols
   - Cardiac drip management (no titration)
   - PCA management
   - Orthopedic trauma and total joint replacements
   - Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
   - External CPAP/BiPAP management
   - High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
   - Tracheostomy management
   - Wound care and wound vac
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including osteoarthritis and fractures
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
