Job Details:

• Work in a 10-bed Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU) providing care to critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients ages 18 and older
• Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or ARC only)
• Must pass EKG exam on the first attempt - failure risks cancellation
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• May float to all ICU floors and med/surg floors if overstaffed
• Holidays worked as needed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Perform and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Provide care for patients recovering from open heart surgery including CABG, TAVR, and cardiac valve surgery
• Manage arrhythmia monitoring and intervention, advanced cardiac life support, pacemaker/ICD management, IABP management, CRRT, ventricular assist devices (VAD), and ECMO
• Operate specialized equipment including Hemispheres/Accuman, Impella, CRRT, TVPs, ECMO, tandem heart, LVADs, IABP, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ventilators
• Skills required include arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
