Med Surg RN Job in Santa Fe, NM

CHRISTUS St Vincent Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN for its Medical/Surgical unit. You will work the night shift, providing direct patient care in a full-time role.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
• Weekend requirement: 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated among staff
• On-call not required but may be requested if census rises
• Float assignment across all Med/Surg departments
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: August 17, 2026

Your Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments; establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
• Develop and implement individualized, measurable plans of care
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and patient outcome evaluations
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Perform Point of Care testing procedures
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Coordinate team assignments and delegate unit work to ensure quality patient care
• Function as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff

Requirements

• Current New Mexico RN license or compact state license
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• BLS certification from AHA
