Respiratory Therapist Job in Centreville, IL

Touchette Regional Hospital - Main Campus is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 5x8 rotating shift position covering evenings, nights, and rotating hours. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,511.20.

Your Responsibilities:

• Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
• Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity
• Treat patients using chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
• Monitor and record patients' progress throughout treatment
• Teach patients how to take medications and use equipment such as ventilators
• Administer oxygen, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and manage mechanical ventilators
• Administer drugs to the lungs and monitor cardiopulmonary systems
• Assist in training and precepting new hire employees

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care
• Current and valid Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care or AARC
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) designation
• Illinois State License in Respiratory Care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 3 months of job offer acceptance
• 1 year of experience preferred; no experience necessary

Working Conditions:

This role involves medium work physical demands, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. You will have exposure to bodily fluids and bloodborne pathogens as part of your daily duties.
