Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with various shift times available: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, 7:30 AM–8:00 PM, 9:30 AM–10:00 PM, 11:30 AM–12:00 AM, 2:30 PM–3:00 AM, and 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
• 26-bed emergency department with 5-bed fast track area and 2–3 psychiatric patients seen daily
• Patient volume ranges from 40–160 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• Must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips — no monitor techs on unit
• RNs are responsible for all lab draws — no IV team on site
• Works alongside Emergency Medical Aides (EMAs) who assist with EKGs, splints, and first aid
• Ventilator experience required
• Level 2 trauma center serving adult and pediatric patients, including STEMI and CVA receiving center
• Patient population includes low socioeconomic status individuals, homeless patients, and patients with drug abuse-related conditions
• Critical pediatric patients are transferred to a nearby children's hospital
• No floating required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue for RNs
• EMR system: Cerner – FirstNet
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS
• Minimum 3–5 years of previous emergency department experience required
• BSN not required
