Telemetry RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its 3E Telemetry unit, a 33-bed cardiac floor. This is a travel position offering 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week for 91 days, beginning September 28, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a telemetry setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–6 depending on acuity. Your patient population includes post-cardiac surgery patients, thoracotomies with chest tubes, patients on cardiac drips, atrial fibrillation cases, and medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Care technicians support the unit at a ratio of approximately 1:15.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips (excluding pressors, paralytics, and TPA)
• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen with in-house respiratory therapy support for rate settings
• Read telemetry strips once per shift and as needed for rhythm changes; centralized telemetry monitoring is available
• Work alongside charge nurses who typically maintain patient assignments

Scheduling and Support

You will benefit from self-scheduling with adjustments to maintain a balanced schedule. Weekend requirements are 6 shifts per 6-week period. Holiday commitments include 2 summer shifts and 3 winter shifts. There is no on-call or standby requirement. Floating to other floors may be required as needed.

Onboarding and Operations

The unit provides 1–2 shifts of unit-specific orientation. You will use the EPIC charting system and are required to wear Galaxy Blue scrubs. BLS certification is required; BSN is not.

Compensation and Duration

Weekly pay is $2,113. The assignment runs for 91 days.
