RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications including oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous methods
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with established policy
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays
• Initiate corrective action when patients display adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients including pre- and post-surgery patients
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician
• Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness or injury
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment of patients
• Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Participate in discharge planning
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (must be through the American Heart Association)
• Wyoming RN or multi-state RN license required
