Med Surg RN Job in Baltimore, MD

You will work as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical care at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 10, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,945.30.

Schedule and Requirements

• Work 3x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Float required between Ortho and Med Surg units
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg Ortho experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Current BLS certification required

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for adult patients with a range of diagnoses including joint replacements, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, hand trauma, and fractures. Orthopedic experience is required, particularly with peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains.

• Accessing and managing ports
• Blood product administration
• Heparin and insulin management
• PCA and PICC line management
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Isolation precautions and PPE compliance

Equipment and Support

You will work with PCA pumps and lift equipment as part of daily care delivery. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services.
