Med Surg RN Job in Oakland, MD

WVU Garrett Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for a 91-day travel assignment on its 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit in Oakland, MD. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with every-other-weekend rotation, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Role Overview

As a Med/Surg RN, you will care for patients with diverse diagnoses, including chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-operative surgical patients, and pediatric patients. The unit currently operates at 20 of 32 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 5 patients per nurse. Three nurse aides per shift support the unit. You will have access to telemetry monitoring (ICU monitors read strips and fax results to you for documentation), respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen with RT support available.

Key Expectations

• Holiday rotations shared with regular staff
• The unit does not manage laboring mothers or titrating cardiac or insulin drips

Technical Requirements

• EPIC charting experience required
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license copy required with application

Compensation & Details

You will earn $2,224 per week. The assignment begins October 26, 2026. Scrub color is open to any color except camouflage or orange.
