CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 16-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position running 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours total), with alternating weekends. The assignment is 91 days, starting October 1, 2026. You will earn $2,102.40 per week.

Unit Details:

• Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
• RN-only unit with no HUC or PCT support
• Travelers required to float to all areas of the unit
• Documentation via Cerner

Equipment & Skills Required:

You must have ICU experience and demonstrated competency in titration of vasopressor and vesicant medications, sedation, paralytics, and ventilator management. Additional core skills include tracheostomy care, telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and PA catheter setup and interpretation.

Equipment you will work with includes ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment. Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.

Advanced Skills (Desired):

Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT is desired. CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are appreciated but not required.

Dress Code:

Required scrub colors are all navy or navy and white. Pullovers, hoodies, and green scrubs are not permitted except when your uniform is soiled during your shift.
