CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will join Mission Hospital's 16-bed cardiovascular ICU as a travel RN, working 3 shifts of 12 hours per week on nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM). This is a 91-day assignment beginning October 11, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,094.

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care with ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
• Manage complex hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Titrate vasopressor medications, sedation, and paralytics
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and manage tracheostomies
• Interpret telemetry and respond to rhythm changes
• Work with IABP, Impella, CRRT, Baxter IV pumps, and hypothermia equipment
• Assist with procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Float to all unit areas as needed

Unit Details:

This is an RN-only unit with no HUC or PCT support, so you will manage your own documentation and patient care independently. You will use the Cerner documentation system. An alternating weekend schedule is required.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• ICU experience required
• Demonstrated competency with vasopressor titration, sedation, and paralytic management
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience
• Telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Skills:

IABP, Impella, or CRRT experience is desirable. Certifications such as CCRN, IABP, Impella, or CRRT are appreciated but not required.

Dress Code:

All Navy or Navy and White scrubs required. No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs except when uniform is soiled at work.
